The unexpected blessing

Sometimes we grind through our days as though they will continue on forever. We are "caught up", all in the "middle of it all".

We are "expecting this or that", we are hoping for "this or that" with the expectation of children that the "this or that" is what will bring us peace and contentment or it's what will bring us togther as a family, nuclear or church.

Continuing on using our Road to Emmaus scripture, the disciples were "expecting" something different from our Savior. Like us, they put the savior of the world, God with Us, in a box..tightly defined with expectations. Hes going to do "This or that" . We do that with Jesus as well in the modern day.

I challenge us all to lay aside our "expectations" for "this and that" for 6 months, and make a conscious effort to examine the "possibilities" and the "opportunities" we are blessed to have from God and his grace.

Sometimes God's grace SEEMS to shine brightest when things are darkest. Our cup overflows with his love when we are "deep in the time of need". But does'nt Gods' love for us burn the same, when we are in the midst of good times or bad? Doesnt he love us just as much when things are going well vs. times of struggle? The answer is, of course he does.

Our awareness of God' presence is highlighted in those times, partly by the goodness of his grace and depth of love, but also honed by our expectations. The disciples didnt recongnize Jesus on the road because they were looking for or "expecting" "THIS OR THAT".

Let us hope for and receive "HIS possibilities" for each our us, for our children, and for our church. God is everywhere all the time, 24/7/365. What a wonderful and powerful God. What an opportunity we have to see God's vision for us and his true power and love when we remove our limiting "this or that" from his equation.

Blessings, Ya'll
